Welcome Leo!

Things got a little bit crazy but I'm ready to blog again about our newest adventure: Leo!

Little Leo was anxious to come be with his big sister and decided to come as soon as we just thought about having another baby.
Leo was due October 17th and like the good little boy he is came right on October 17th. He was a super easy pregnancy I didn't ever get sick or throw up and I gained half the weight that I gained with Kendra. His delivery was nice and easy to know a little bit exciting, so I'll share that first.
I'd had two nights of false contractions for about 2 hours each night so on the third night when it was the night before his due date and I'd had contractions for 4 hours I decided it was time. The contractions weren't super consistent but I was ready to have this baby, so we headed in to McKay-Dee Hospital around 5am and had Grandpa come bright and early that morning to stay with Kendra. When we got to the hospital they told me I would probably have to walk around for about an hour to see if the labor progressed. The thought of that was obviously too much for me, because as they put on the belts to track the contractions I started to get nauseous and light-headed and I knew I was going to pass out. I wasn't having any contractions or in any pain, so I'm not sure why , but I warn the nurse and then I blacked out. When I came to there were three nurses watching me looking a little bit startled. Apparently when I passed out my body convulse a little bit, or as Marc would say a lot a bit,  so it looked like I was having a seizure. The doctor later said I had no other signs of a seizure and sometimes the muscle convulsions happen when passing out. But it sure frightened the nurses, so we got to skip the walking around and they sent me straight up to labor and delivery. This time unlike Kendra's Labor the epidural worked wonderfully. I didn't know how rough Kendra's labor was until I experience Leo's labor.

I felt no pain and laid around for about 6 hours and had a nice nap when I decided that I was doing well and Marc could head down to the car to get our bags. Because of the previous scare and the fact that anesthetic's make me throw up and sometimes faint because of my low blood pressure, the nurses hadn't left me alone very much. Things were looking good so Marc went to the car and the nurses were away and I had my throw-up bag to hold on to. Marc can check to see if I can reach my button and since I could reach the one on the side of the bed he left. The throw up bag came in handy as shortly after he left I got super nauseous and threw up. Unfortunately when I push the button on the side of the bed I found out those buttons didn't work. So I sat in the bed holding my throw-up bag trying to figure out what to do next. It was this time that I started to feel pressure down below. At first I thought my epidural was wearing off but then I realized it was different. I quickly determined that Leo was ready to come. He started pushing his way out more and more and I was alone holding my throw up bag. I tried calling Marc but he didn't answer his phone so I debated on calling the hospital and trying to find my nurses. Just as I started to get really nervous Marc walked in the door and I had him go get the nurses. I guess he was in the elevator and didn't get my call. The nurses came in and the first nurse checked me and then had the nurse she was training check me all the while I was feeling Leo's head coming out. As they calmly determined that I was at a 10 and ready to go they began to set up for the doctor before they called the doctor. So anxiously I told them they should call the doctor first because Leo was coming. The doctor got there quickly since she was just down the hall and about 6 minutes later and only a couple pushes Leo was there.

At 7lbs 14oz and 19.5 inches we had a perfect little baby boy.

While he was laying on my chest right after he came out he took his first black tar-like poop on my belly. Welcome to the world of boys right? Lot's of poop!

We had an uneventful rest of the hospital stay. He ate well, slept well. My mom came to see him.

Fletcher's came to see him, and brought big sister.

She was nervous, and curious, and in love, and jealous all at the same time. I felt a little like I was betraying her leaving her to stay with her grandparents while we hung out with this new guy, but she was quick to forgive. She loves on him constantly now.
