Dunn Family Reunion at Bear Lake!

We were lucky enough to get back to Utah just in time for my family reunion. Although it was around the first week in August, Bear Lake was having a cold stormy week. So instead of the lake we started with some fun side-by-sides. The other cousins weren't up there yet, and they didn't have the big ones for the babies to go on, so it was just the six of us who loaded up.
 Grandma and Ed
Jason, Kaylee, and Me - Marc isn't pictured, since he took the pictures.

It was a pretty trail. Nice and muddy to keep it exciting.

We took a few selfies a long the way:

The trail got muddier and so did we- although somehow Jason and Kaylee end up the muddiest by far! Though Marc and I tried to compete.

But then we came to this giant mud hole. Everyone went through it and around this random pile of rocks in the middle. And then we went through it a little faster and- turns out there was a large rock in the middle that knocked us into the large rock on the side. We went over the rock Marc is standing on and I was pretty sure we were going to tip into the water, but somehow we made it over the rock and into the pine tree instead! It was all pretty intense, and when we finally made it out (between the rocks and the pine tree) we were not really worse for the wear, but the machine wasn't doing too great.

Luckily it was really only one bar that broke- so it wouldn't be too hard to get a new part and fix it. Yeah, I guess the wheel isn't supposed to turn like that.
But we did have to wait around while Grandma and Ed rode all the way back to the company and they came and picked it up. They even brought us another one to ride back in (though it was a big six-seater...)

In the end we all came away alive and healthy!
Oh! And of course I can't leave out another little miracle. Besides being uninjured, there was almost another tragedy. After things settled down and we got out of the trees, I realized I no longer had Marc's phone that I had been holding... I looked down at the big pool of water and felt a little despair. I walked into the water a little to see if there was any hope. The water came up about 6-10 inches and was completely muddy/murky. As I was thinking it was hopeless, I looked across the pool and there was a little patch of ground between the pool and the tree (about 1 ft x 1 ft) and right in the middle lay Marc's phone! Hallelujah! I picked it up and it just had a little mud on the cover. We turned it off and took it home to clean and make sure it was dry, and sure enough- no problems! We had an angel watching out for us there :)
All-in-all we had a great time, though we ended it after 2 hours instead of 3, but I still feel we really got our money's worth!

Since the next day was still pretty cold we decided to go visit the Minnetonka Cave. It was fun, with all the family! (Although my pregnant, just had a 3-week road trip, body got a little winded on the 400 steps each way)
What cuties in this whole family huh?!

He's a CHEESER! He knows exactly what to do when "say cheese" is said!

Hey, Hey, the gangs all here! Well almost- those of you who couldn't make it were missed! You all know who you are.
I must admit I was a little dishonest in this picture. He was burying his face in his dad's shoulder, so finally I told him we were done as soon as he looked up- snap! So I feel a little guilty about the lie, but look at that face, we couldn't miss it! :)

Waiting to enter the cave.

A couple pictures inside. Though in retrospect I should have taken a picture of all the stairs too :)
We had a great time, and all the kiddo's made it- with a little help of course :)

And after a hard days work, we had to stop for some Bear Lake Milkshakes. This is our adorable Got Milk? model. Though of course it was a completely natural side effect from enjoying the delicious milkshake, and she really has no idea about a Got Milk? marketing program.
