Another Visitor: This Could Be You!

We were really excited to have Marc's brother Aaron and his wife Lisa come and visit us last weekend. It was a quick weekend trip, but we used just about every minute of it. They flew in Saturday night and we took them to a favorite sea food, on the beach restaurant in Fort Lauderdale. Unfortunately, their flight was delayed due to some sort of bad weather we know nothing about down here. So by the time we had dinner it was pretty dark- this picture was from another time.

While we waited for their plane, we drove over to the Fort Lauderdale temple that is to be dedicated in a few months:
They were having a youth fireside out there, so they hadn't lit the temple yet.

Because of some unfortunate circumstances, Marc had to go into work Sunday morning. I dropped Marc off at work at 5am, and then dropped Aaron and Lisa off at Miami Beach, and then went to my early meeting and church so I could teach young women's. Maybe not the best welcome: wake up early, we'll drop you off, you're on your own for an unknown amount of time, good luck! :)
They wanted to hang out at the beach, so that worked out great. They were there for the sun rise!
It was a little cloudy, but cleared up quickly. (Almost all the pictures in this post are from Aaron's GoPro, from still pictures, and video there were some pretty fun shots.)

After church, I picked them up from the beach, and we went and took Marc from work, and drove down to the Everglades.

This time the alligators were much more active. There weren't any just sunning themselves, they were all swimming around on the prowl. It was fun to watch.

If you look close you can notice our reflections in the water.

Afterwards, we stopped by Robert is Here fruit stand and bought some tasty milkshakes, and delicious mangoes! I tried a smoothie- cherry and key lime- wow was that tart!! I involuntarily made a sour face every time I took a drink.

We woke up bright and early Monday morning for some snorkeling. We arrived in Key Largo just in time to be the last people boarding the 9am trip.
Lisa and Aaron on the boat getting ready for their first dive!

I'm in!
Ready to jump in,
and Aaron's in!

Flippers on,

on the edge,

and Lisa's in!

The coral reef, even though you can't see them here, there were lots of fish! And no stinging jelly fish this time!!!

 Just swimming around.

So fun to swim with your spouse! And it makes it easier not to lose them while holding hands :)

And then back to the boat, and back to shore.
We stopped for a delicious bite to eat at the Fish House in Key Largo, and then headed back north.

We had enough time to finish the day stand-up (well sometimes) paddle boarding in Bill Baggs State Park on Key Biscayne. We had a blast!

We took turns paddling around.
Though some turns were shorter than others :)
I even saw a sting ray swimming under me on my turn. Which gave me a little more incentive to stay on the board!
Fortunately, we captured Marc's wipe out- Unfortunately, we didn't get everyone else's. There were some pretty great ones!
After playing and swimming for awhile, we thought it would be fun for all four of us to get on and paddle out to the buoy to watch the sunset. Earlier we had tried to get all four of us on, and were unsuccessful, but we thought we would give it another try.
We had the boys on first on each end. Then Lisa and I got on in the middle...
 And success!!

Cuba here we come!
Oh wait!
Maybe not quite to Cuba yet, in fact not even to the buoy yet!
Though we stayed on for quite awhile, it wasn't a perfect system. One wrong movement, or maybe a wave was too big, but we were down!

And on the horse again

I decided to swim it back out a little ways... before we ran back into the beach!

We did enjoy the sunset though.
Marc abandoned ship, and then took some shark view pictures of our way back.

Then the camera got a water droplet on it, just in time for Marc's selfie.

A ride back into the beach.
And we're back.

Thanks Aaron and Lisa for the visit! It was great to spend some time with you guys!
